Prize Director Scott B. Murphy

Scott has worked in the Australian entertainment business since he turned 18 where he started out as 'gopher' at Michael Gudinski's Mushroom Records Group.
Over the years he established and ran various divisions of Mushroom, such as Mds as well as establishing Agent MAD - a touring and events operation which staged many large and club based music events across Australia.
In 1999 Scott was lured over to establish and run the Australian/NZ office for the Zomba Group - featuring the Jive Records Label and such artists as TOOL, Groove Armada, The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. Since 2001 Scott has worked for himself as an industry consultant and developing his own industry related business projects.
In 2001 Scott started to research an Australian Music Prize and obviously in 2005 - made it a reality.
