Submit it for consideration for the 22nd (2026 albums)
SOUNDMERCH Australian Music Prize.

FOR AN ALBUM TO BE ELIGIBLE
— Artist must be Australian
— Album must be commercially released in Australia for the first time between: 01.10.25 — 30.09.26
(digital-only releases are ok - proof may be requested)
— Album must have a minimum length of either 9 tracks or,
any number of tracks but at least 33 1/3 minutes of music.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Nominated (meaning at least 3 of our judges think the album may make the Shortlist) albums are announced as they happen from early June through to the Shortlist announcement.

The Shortlist will be announced in October, 2026.

The Winner will be decided on at a meeting of the judges within three weeks of the Shortlist being announced, and such Winner will be announced later that same day at the Winner Announcement Event.

IMPORTANT
Asking your ‘fans’ to submit your album is useless, we only require one submission per album, ideally by the artist or their manager, label, agent, or publicist. All other ‘fan’ submissions are deleted. Album nominations are decided by judges listening to albums, not by how many ‘fans’ you ask to submit.

IMPORTANT # 2
The ‘AMP team’ doesn’t rely on artists/their people submitting their albums here - we prefer it to happen that way as then we have contact details - we do piles of our own research which as for the 22nd prize produced just over 600 eligible albums that our judges are listening to. However, there is no way possible that we will discover every eligible album, unfortunately, that’s just the way it is. Eligible albums that are discovered after the cut-off date will be listened to by the judges of the following prize.
